Popular pasta chain\u00a0Noodles and Company<\/a>\u00a0just announced that\u00a0they will be shutting down at least\u00a028 underperforming locations nationwide in the coming months.<\/p>\n According to Restaurant Dive<\/a>,\u00a0Noodles and Company<\/a> CFO Michael Hynes\u00a0revealed this\u00a0in an earnings call last week while going over some not-so-great numbers from the past fiscal year.<\/p>\n They have closed nine locations so far in 2025, with the remaining set to be whacked by Christmas \u2014\u00a0happy\u00a0holidays!<\/p>\n It seems as if Noodles and Company got a little too popular too fast. Closing underperforming stores in the past helped, and they saw their cashflow increase as a result.<\/p>\n They also noticed that when they closed certain underperforming spots, the locations near the ones that closed got a surge of customers \u2014 so they didn’t lose that business, they just consolidated it and migrated the customers a few miles.<\/p>\n When the closures are all said and done for 2025, Noodles and Company will have around 340 company-owned locations left, scattered across America.<\/p>\n The fast-casual chain\u00a0has been serving up\u00a0food crafted around pasta for\u00a0more than 30 years. Their menu has quite the variety \u2014 everything from American to Italian and Japanese noodle options.<\/p>\n While they will be losing some locations,\u00a0Noodles and Co. promise to improve everything along the way at their remaining restaurants.<\/p>\n According to Scrape Hero<\/a>, Wisconsin has the most Noodles and Company locations with 60.\u00a0Illinois and Colorado are tied for second place with 55 and 54 locations, respectively.<\/p>\n According to the World’s Instant Noodle Association (I know<\/em>, right?), China and Hong Kong consumed the most noodles in 2024: 43,802 servings.<\/p>\n Of all of the side hustles country artists could partake in, opening a bar or restaurant is the most fitting \u2014 and very common.
