Pixies<\/a> alum Paz Lenchantin<\/a> has announced her debut solo album. Triste<\/em><\/a> was mixed by Chris Coady and features contributions from drummer Josh Freese<\/a> and guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, with whom Lenchantin previously played in A Perfect Circle<\/a>. It\u2019s out October 17 via her own imprint, Hideous Human Records. Watch the self-directed video for lead single \u201cHang Tough\u201d below.<\/p>\n

Lechantin sang and played bass in Pixies from 2014<\/a> to 2024<\/a>, filling the role<\/a> originally occupied by Kim Deal<\/a>. In addition to touring with the band, she worked on the albums Head Carrier<\/em><\/a>, Beneath the Eyrie<\/em><\/a>, and Doggerel<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI had to make this record on my own,\u201d Lenchantin shared of Triste<\/em> in a press statement, \u201cnot to prove anything, but just to have faith that music can nurture me back. And it did.\u201d<\/p>\n
