Last week,\u00a0<\/span>Halestorm\u00a0<\/span><\/b>returned\u00a0with the release of their brand new album\u00a0<\/span>Everest.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n A perfect blend of power ballads and classic rock anthems from modern icons,\u00a0<\/span>Everest\u00a0<\/span><\/i>is a twelve-track masterpiece and one of the best releases of the year so far. The main couple of themes I\u2019ve found is resilience, and being true to yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n Everest\u00a0<\/span><\/i>portrays this through the story-telling of Lzzy<\/strong>\u2019s lyrics, accompanied by the tone and range of her voice and the powerful infusion of instruments.<\/span><\/p>\n It throws you straight into some theatrical trash\u00a0with\u00a0<\/span>Fallen Star,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>which is the perfect track to introduce the themes of the album. The title track is a good example of the music reflecting the metaphor, as the chorus feels like they\u2019re pushing on and forcing themselves forward. As if they\u2019re climbing Everest.<\/span><\/p>\n Shiver\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and\u00a0<\/span>Darkness Always Wins\u00a0<\/span><\/i>are great\u00a0ballads, with clear and impactful contrasts between the verse and choruses. I even found myself clicking along to\u00a0<\/span>Darkness Always Wins.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Like a Woman Can<\/span><\/i> is possibly my favourite track. It\u2019s sensual, but powerful. It feels a song from a musical about female rage, the turning-point moment where the woman snaps.<\/span><\/p>\n For the second half of the album, it did feel like\u00a0a little\u00a0bit of filler.\u00a0The tracks were still really good quality songs, they just felt a little off-theme. It was like they belonged on a different album. Although,\u00a0<\/span>How Will You Remember Me\u00a0<\/span><\/i>was the best choice for a final track. A nice, soft song. Nostalgic, sentimental and also heart-breaking.<\/span><\/p>\n Everest<\/span><\/i>\u00a0starts so high energy, and ends so softly.\u00a0It\u2019s full of ups and downs, and tackles many emotions.\u00a0<\/span>Halestorm\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is made up of four very talented individuals, that come together to create pure beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n Halestorm\u00a0<\/span><\/b>will also return to the UK later this year for a tour, which I hope\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0be\u00a0lucky enough to catch!\u00a0<\/span>Everest\u00a0<\/span><\/i>is an album I feel needs to be injected into my veins, let alone experienced live. It\u2019s also out now, to stream or buy on a swamp green vinyl!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
