Ransom Canyon<\/em><\/a> is set to return for a second season<\/a> on Netflix, and according to reports, the new episodes will bring several changes to the cast of the hit show.<\/p>\n According to Hello<\/a>,\u00a0the series’ two lead actors, Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, are set to return for Season 2.<\/p>\n Duhamel plays rancher Staten Kirkland, while Kelly plays local dancehall owner Quinn O’Grady. Johnson’s character of Kit Russell was a recurring role in Season 1, but as Deadline<\/a><\/em> reports, he’s been bumped up to a series regular for Season 2, meaning fans will be seeing more of his character.<\/p>\n Additionally, Season 2 will welcome\u00a0Erica Dasher as the wife of Schumacher’s character, Yancy. She was introduced to fans ever-so-briefly in a stunning plot twist at the end of the first season.<\/p>\n The small Texas town of Ransom was being threatened by developers as Season 1 came to a close. Season 2 will explore more of that, as well as the relationship between Staten and Quinn.<\/p>\n According to a description from producers, “As the battle to save Ransom wages on, a mysterious cowboy drifts into town, dredging up secrets from the past. Vise tightening, Staten fights to protect the land he calls home\u00a0\u2014 and the only love that can pull him back from the demons that haunt him.”<\/p>\n Ransom Canyon<\/em> showrunner April Blair has also revealed that there will probably be a time jump of six months between Season 1 and Season 2.<\/p>\n Season 1 ended with Quinn \u2014 a former concert pianist who quit her career to move back home after a shattering setback\u00a0\u2014 accepting a six-month playing gig in New York City, which proved one more complication in her relationship with Staten.<\/p>\n “We would need to [have a time jump] because I don\u2019t want to do anything in New York,” Blair told\u00a0TV Insider<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n “I think we would probably do that because she says, ‘I\u2019m going to go away for six months.’ So the idea right now, although nothing\u2019s set in stone, is that we would do at least a six-month time jump.”<\/p>\n According to Hello, production will begin in September at Amazon Studios Albuquerque in New Mexico.<\/p>\n The production will utilize solar power, geothermal heating and cooling and more to lower production costs and reduce the series’ carbon footprint.<\/p>\n Ransom Canyon<\/em> is based on a popular series of books by Jodi Thomas, and while Season 1 did not follow the books exactly, fans can reference the source material to find out what might happen next.<\/p>\n Netflix has not yet announced when Ransom Canyon<\/em> will return.<\/p>\n IMDb<\/a>\u00a0describes\u00a0Ransom Canyon<\/em>\u00a0as a “romance-fueled family drama and contemporary Western saga that charts the intersecting lives and loves of three ranching families set against the sweeping tundras and rolling rivers of Texas Hill Country.”<\/p>\n Ransom Canyon<\/em> is heating up on Netflix after just one season.
