Miranda Lambert<\/a> will be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in February 2026.<\/p>\n In a social media post about the honor, the superstar credits her father, Richard Lee Lambert, as her first co-writer and the one who led her to this\u00a0moment.<\/p>\n “It is a huge honor to learn that I will be inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame next year,” she writes in a post that also includes a photo of her as a toddler, intently watching her dad strum a guitar.<\/p>\n “My dad was my first co-writer. He taught me how to play guitar and is a huge part of the reason for my love of country music,” she continues. “I\u2019m grateful for what music and songwriting has done in my life.”<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Lambert admits she’s humbled by the fact that she will be inducted alongside some of her heroes. Other Texas songwriters to be inducted this year:\u00a0George Strait<\/a>, Keith Gattis<\/a> and Don Cook.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Strait is being inducted not for the dozens of hits he’s\u00a0charted over the years, but specifically the ones he wrote himself, including\u00a0“Here for a Good Time,” “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” and “I Believe.”<\/p>\n Gattis, who died on April 23, 2023, wrote some of country music’s biggest songs, Like Strait’s “I Got A Car,” from his 2013\u00a0album, Love Is Everything.<\/em>\u00a0He’s also credited with penning\u00a0<\/em>Kenny Chesney<\/a>‘s 2013 hit, “El Cerritos Place” and\u00a0at least\u00a020 other big hits<\/a>.<\/p>\n Don Cook wrote a few of Brooks & Dunn<\/a>‘s more popular songs, like “Brand New Man,” “My Next Broken Heart” and “Only\u00a0in America,” among many others.<\/p>\n The 2026 Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on February 21, 2026.<\/p>\n Lambert has\u00a0seven No. 1\u00a0hits to her name.
