\n\tUp until recently, Gavin Adcock<\/a> was mostly an unknown to the majority of country fans. But after a string of viral moments \u2014 claiming Beyonc\u00e9 isn\u2019t country<\/a>, calling out cowboy singer Charley Crockett, and in a Rolling Stone<\/em> video<\/a> that\u2019s now been viewed more than 1 million times on TikTok, saying Zach Bryan isn\u2019t \u201creally that great of a person\u201d \u2014 his name is seemingly turning up everywhere.<\/p>\n \n\tAdcock\u2019s currently on the road in support of his new album Own Worst Enemy<\/em>, playing concerts that often end up soaked in beer. During his interview on Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s Nashville Now<\/a><\/em> podcast, Adcock explained how the beer-throwing ritual started, beginning with a show in Newport, Kentucky.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI stirred that up\u2026 I thought it was awesome. I saw cans flying, and just the chaos was amazing,\u201d Adcock says. \u201cThey weren\u2019t throwing beers because they were mad \u2014 they were throwing beers because they were having an out-of-body experience where they were living in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBut Adock admits that when the beer tossing took on a life of its own, it became \u201ca battle\u201d for the Georgia native. To try to control the monster, he now has beers poured into cups at his headlining concerts. He also says he demands his security to keep an eye out for fans throwing cans.<\/p>\n
