It’s been almost three years since Walker Hayes<\/a>‘ song “Fancy Like” took over the nation with the now-famous lines:<\/p>\n “Yeah, we fancy like Applebee’s on a date night \/ Got\u00a0that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake \/ Get some whipped cream on the top, too \/\u00a0Two straws, one check, girl, I got you.”<\/em><\/p>\n We had a\u00a0burning question for Walker Hayes as soon as he entered the\u00a0Taste of Country Nights<\/em><\/a>\u00a0studio: Is\u00a0he still using\u00a0his\u00a0Applebee’s<\/a>\u00a0gold card, which\u00a0is good for\u00a0lifelong free\u00a0Applebee’s<\/a>?<\/p>\n Hayes took a deep breath and had us anticipating his answer:<\/p>\n “You know, man, Applebee’s was so good to us, and they always are … but you know, you fatigue of a restaurant, you know what I mean?”<\/p>\n The “AA” singer compares going to Applebee’s now to how he felt back in his earlier years, when he was working at Macaroni Grill.<\/p>\n “I used to work at Macaroni Grill, and I mean the food is solid and the service is amazing \u2014 their whole brand is amazing \u2014 but if I just smell the Macaroni Grill then I need to drive to another town,” he shares.<\/p>\n “And I think we’re there on Applebee’s.”<\/p>\n Hayes\u00a0says he and his family, “Crushed it, so hard. We did meet and greets there, we’ve had to-go boxes with steaks, we’ve had so many melted Oreo shakes, you would not believe.”<\/p>\n “I’d be fine if I never ate another Oreo again,” he admits.<\/p>\n “It’s\u00a0funny how something great and just awesome, and one day you just wake up and it’s just like, ‘I can’t, I can’t do it again.’ We’re taking an Applebee’s break now,” Hayes reveals.<\/p>\n The gold card lives in Laney’s wallet just in case \u2014 that way it doesn’t get lost or abused.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n According to Scrape Hero<\/a>, there are just over 1,600 Applebee’s locations in the United States, with the exact number fluctuating almost weekly.<\/p>\n Hayes is 45 years old. His birthday is December 27, 1979.<\/p>\n The singer has dealt with serious medical conditions since 2006. Add two kids, the stress of life, career and divorce and getting older \u2014 yeah, we totally get how she gained a few pounds.<\/p>\n In 2025, she’s as fit as she’s ever been, and that’s because she began to take her doctor’s advice seriously.
