They aren’t quite married yet, but Lainey Wilson<\/a>‘s soon-to-be husband Devlin “Duck” Hodges stopped her from making a huge financial mistake.<\/p>\n The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer sat in the hot seat on Taste of Country Nights<\/em><\/a>, where Evan Paul asked her to\u00a0share\u00a0the biggest financial splurge she’s made since\u00a0reaching the big time.<\/p>\n “Me and Duck were actually at a place called Moby Dickys, which is our favorite restaurant ever, it’s on the water and it’s actually where we had our first date,” she explains.<\/p>\n Here’s where she started feeling spendy:<\/p>\n “I saw somebody drive up on a jet ski, and I was like, ‘We gon’ get a jet ski, today, we gettin’ a jet ski,'” she recalls.<\/p>\n But, “by the time I finished the beer, he [Duck] had already talked me out of it.”<\/p>\n “I was ready to do something crazy, I was ready to get a turquoise jet ski,” Wilson admits.<\/p>\n Duck’s reason was valid.<\/p>\n “He was like ‘You’re not gonna be here to ride it.’ Anyway, long story short, I thought about it but it didn’t happen.”<\/p>\n Wilson makes it clear that the finances weren’t the issue \u2014 she’s got the funds \u2014 it’s just the practicality of owning a jet ski when she doesn’t live\u00a0on the water and is always busy touring or making music.
