Cracker Barrel<\/a> stock panic may be premature.<\/p>\n While a few provocative news outlets are calling the marketing shift that led to a one-week, 10 percent drop as a “fiasco” or worse, the less sensational publications recognize it as a dip.<\/p>\n If you pull the lens back you realize that Cracker Barrel is actually having a\u00a0pretty good year.<\/p>\n Time to sell, right? Or, is it time to buy?<\/p>\n We’re not going to suggest a stock strategy, but we’ll point out that \u2014 per Barron’s<\/a> \u2014 CBRL stock is up 12 percent in 2025 and up 40 percent over the last 52 weeks.<\/p>\n CEO Julie Felss Masino is being called all kinds of ugly names, and should the company start liquidating their old-timey rocking chairs, that’s on her. Don’t start clearing space in your garage for them quite yet.<\/p>\n Here is how Cracker Barrel stock has done over the last six months and the last two years:<\/p>\n Masino took the\u00a0reins in Nov. 2023, and the results have (literally) been up and down. Things were on a decline when she began. Actually, the stock was free-falling since\u00a0a post-pandemic surge.<\/p>\n This final graphic shows the 10-year and lifetime ticker. The golden years were definitely 2018 to 2020, when the stock traded for close to $160 a share. Since then, people haven’t been buying what they were selling.<\/p>\n The price is about a third of what it was during\u00a0its May 2019 peak.<\/p>\n The current $55 a share price for CBRL is low compared to share prices for McDonald’s ($312), Panera ($314), Pizza Hut \/ Taco Bell ($147) and Dunkin’ Donuts ($106), but\u00a0it’s beating Wendy’s, a company quietly chugging along at about $10 a share.<\/p>\n Other companies trading at a similar price as Cracker Barrel include GM and Delta Airlines, although both of those are on a different exchange.<\/p>\n There’s an old saying that it’s easy to make a million dollars in the music business, but it’s hard to hold on to one dollar.\u00a0These country stars found that out the hard way when they ended up going bankrupt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Gallery Credit: Sterling Whitaker<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Who had the most played country song during the year you were born?
