It\u2019s a decidedly non-paper ring \u2014 but now it\u2019s on her finger, the one people put wedding rings on. So let\u2019s raise a great big toast to these two crazy kids \u2014 it\u2019s the ultimate All\u2019s Well That Ends Well Taylor story.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFor the soundtrack to their announcement, the couple chose \u201cSo High School,\u201d one of her most light-hearted tunes. Everyone was surprised when these two got together in 2023 \u2014 the tortured poet and the football jock. But this is a joyful occasion for any fan of Taylor, pop music\u2019s truest and newest romantic. After all the teardrops on her guitar over the years, it\u2019s reason to celebrate. The smart money says their wedding will be charming, not a little gauche, but a white-veil occasion, where Taylor will probably not wear a gown shaped like a pastry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tHis dad Ed Kelce, a man refreshingly free of media training, freely spilled about the details, revealing that they got engaged at Travis\u2019 garden in Lee Summit, Missouri, right outside Kansas City. \u201cTravis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,\u201d Kelce <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/mm\/podcast\/ed-kelces-aka-taylor-swifts-fil-dishes-exclusive-details\/id1605665093\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> Tuesday night. \u201cThey were going to go out to dinner and she was ready to go and he was like, \u2018Let\u2019s go out in the garden, let\u2019s go out there on the little patio out there and have a glass of wine. She made the big reveal on August 13 with her appearance on <em>New Heights<\/em>, Travis\u2019 podcast with his brother Jason Kelce. The couple announced their engagement exactly 13 days later. (\u201cI talked to your dad\u201d\u2014yeah, that might have been awkward, considering Romeo just killed her cousin.) In her rapturous 2014 \u201cYou Are In Love,\u201d the happy couple get to spend their lives dancing inside a snowglobe; five years later, Taylor brought back the snowglobe in her video for \u201cLover,\u201d her most grandiose wedding ballad, with the vow, \u201cI swear to be overdramatic and true.\u201d She celebrates time-travel soulmates in songs like \u201cTimeless\u201d or \u201cStarlight,\u201d where she sings, \u2018We could get married, have ten kids and teach them how to dream.\u201d But she\u2019s also helped kill her friends\u2019 husbands and dump the corpse, in \u201cNo Body No Crime,\u201d with the Haim sisters as her accomplices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe whole topic of marriage has been a crucial element of her artistic journey \u2014 few songwriters have ever had more to say about it. In her music, boys tend to throw pebbles at her window, run to meet her in the pouring rain, make speeches in her doorway, dance with her in parking lots, cry all night outside her house, or run red lights while staring at her. So no wonder she enjoyed his public wooing. As she said on <em>New Heights, <\/em>\u201cI felt more like I was in an Eighties John Hughes movie, and he was standing outside of my window with a boombox saying, \u2018I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet!
