the abrupt exit of the band\u2019s guitarist and keyboardist<\/a>, as well as their parting accusations of low pay, \u201cunprofessional behavior,\u201d and other \u201cfoolish clown antics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\tSinger and keyboardist Zo\u00eb M. Federoff\u00a0first announced her departure from Cradle of Filth for \u201cpersonal reasons,\u201d and days later the band announced they were firing \u201ceffective immediately\u201d guitarist (and Federoff\u2019s husband) Marek \u201cAshok\u201d \u0160merda. The sudden splits soon turned acrimonious as both Federoff and \u0160merda aired grievances against the band and the group\u2019s management.<\/p>\n
\n\tWhile Dani Filth touched on the situation when he announced \u0160merda\u2019s firing, the singer gave a more detailed account of the rift in a long statement posted on social media Friday.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI think it\u2019s time to reveal my side of the story, now that so many accusations have been leveled at the band, our management, and me personally,\u201d Filth wrote at the onset. \u201cI apologize for the slight tardiness of this statement; it was important to approach this in a level-headed manner after reflection. The timing was also difficult, as the band is currently touring South America with arduous travel days, long flights, and shows.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tIn the statement, Filth addressed claims of a restrictive contract that band members must sign \u2014 \u201cWE DO NOT prohibit our musicians from work commitments with other bands, we only ask to plan sufficiently,\u201d he wrote \u2014 as well as the mudslinging aimed at the group\u2019s management.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cOf course Zoe would show you the worst and it saddens me that the context of what I thought was our dialogue was warped to fit an agenda and made public,\u201d Filth wrote. \u201cAnd yes, unfortunately a band is a business, and when we witness a person stirring trouble, drinking heavily, not writing, threatening to sue the band over use of their image, then something obviously needed to be done.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFilth also shared text messages where \u0160merda made unflattering comparisons between the band\u2019s management and Sharon Osbourne. \u201cAshok spoke out for her and went after the Royal family of heavy metal and we won\u2019t have anybody speaking about Ozzy\u2019s wife like this,\u201d Filth added.<\/p>\n
\n\tDespite all the drama, Cradle of Filth\u2019s tour of South America has continued on incident-free, with replacements quickly taking the place of the departed members. \u201cAnyhoo I could prattle on forever, I just wanted to clear up a few things and then be out of your hair,\u201d Filth added. \u201d Thank you to all the many bands, fans and fellow musicians who have proffered their support in this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
