Snoop Dogg<\/a> has denied apologizing for making anti-LGBT remarks over gay representation in movies.<\/p>\n

The rap legend hit out at Toy Story<\/em> spin-off Lightyear<\/em> <\/a>for including a same sex relationship that he claimed he did not know how to explain to his grandson.<\/p>\n

After Snoop was criticized for his remarks, an Instagram page pretending to be him hit the comments on Hollywood Unlocked and wrote: \u201cI was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what\u2019s up, they been calling me with love. My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6-yr-old. Teach me how to learn. I\u2019m not perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Snoop\u2019s representatives have since clarified that the statement was \u201cfake\u201d but did not offer further comment about the rapper\u2019s initial remarks.<\/p>\n

On the It\u2019s Giving<\/em> podcast, Snoop said: \u201cWhy my grandson in the middle of the movie like, \u2018Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She a woman.\u2019 I didn\u2019t come here for this shit. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rap legend continued: \u201cSo it\u2019s like, fuck me, I\u2019m scared to go to the movies now. Like, y\u2019all throwing me in the middle of shit that I don\u2019t have an answer for.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt threw me for a loop,\u201d Snoop said about his grandson\u2019s curiosity. \u201cWe have to show that at this age? Like, they\u2019re going to ask questions. I don\u2019t have the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the film\u2019s screenwriters, Lauren Gunderson, hit back at the comments, saying on social media: \u201cI was one of a few writers they had on it over the years, which is very common for screenwriting of course. I had very little to do with the final script. But I was proud to see a happy queer couple (even for a few seconds) onscreen. I know they got a lot of shit for this inclusion, but stuff like this matters because beautiful love like this exists.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cIt\u2019s *not* fiction. What IS fiction is Zurg and lightspeed space travel and murderous aliens and a talking robot cat (long live Sox).\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
