Emani Ellis claimed that the rapper attacked her with her fingernail<\/a> in 2018 while visiting a gynaecologist, causing a laceration in her cheek.<\/p>\nCardi denied any wrongdoing and claimed that Ellis refused to give her privacy during her appointment at the facility.<\/p>\n
The jury took just an hour to find Cardi not liable on charges of assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress as well as negligence and false imprisonment.<\/p>\n
Cardi said after the verdict: \u201cI work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of. So don\u2019t you ever think that you\u2019re going to sue me, and I\u2019m just going to settle.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cLet\u2019s just put this behind. But I\u2019m giving a warning: I am not that celeb you gonna sue and you think is going to settle. Especially when I am super, completely innocent. I know I\u2019ve got a little reputation but I swear to god I am innocent.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Ellis claimed she was attacked by the \u201cWAP\u201d rapper, Cardi\u2019s version of events was supported by the doctor she was there to see and the receptionist at the office.<\/p>\n
The receptionist claimed that the security guard was attempting to hit Cardi B and that she was the aggressor in the encounter.<\/p>\n
While on the stand, Ellis gave her version of events, saying: \u201cI said something along the lines of \u2018That looks like Cardi B\u2019 or \u2018Wow, that\u2019s Cardi B.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
She then alleges that the rapper \u201cturned around\u201d and said: \u201cWhy the fuck are you telling people that you see me?\u201d<\/p>\n
Ellis claims that she then attempted to defuse the situation and said she \u201ctried to calm her down and assure her that I didn\u2019t tell anyone that I\u2019d seen her\u201d.<\/p>\n
The security guard alleged that Cardi then cut her face with her fingernail leaving a gash that was \u201ctwo to three inches long\u201d. She also claims that the female MC attempted to punch her but failed to connect.<\/p>\n
Cardi was also accused of making a number of \u201cbody shaming\u201d and \u201cracial slurs\u201d towards Ellis.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
