\n\tIt\u2019s safe to say the NFL<\/a> commissioner is a Swiftie, too. On Wednesday, Roger Goodell essentially extended an open invitation to Taylor Swift<\/a> to perform at the Super Bowl<\/a> Halftime Show, stating that she\u2019s \u201cwelcome at any time.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe would always love to have Taylor play,\u201d Goodell said during an appearance on the Today<\/em> Show<\/em>. \u201cShe is a special, special talent and obviously, she would be welcome at any time.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWhen asked directly if there were any official plans in the works to get Swift on the halftime show stage, Goodell played coy. \u201cI can\u2019t tell you anything about that,\u201d he said at first, but when pressed, he added: \u201cIt\u2019s a maybe.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAs for when a decision might be announced, Goodell deferred to Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation helms the Super Bowl Halftime Show. \u201cI\u2019m waiting on my friend Jay-Z to help me with that one,\u201d Goodell said. \u201cIt\u2019s in his hands. I\u2019m waiting for the smoke to come out.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tReps for Swift, Jay-Z, and Roc Nation did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n \n\tAnd as if there was even a shred of doubt based on his previous comments, Goodell proudly declared himself among Swift\u2019s fans: \u201cI\u2019m definitely a Swiftie,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \n\tSwift would make sense<\/a> for the February 2026 game at Super Bowl LX at Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Over the past few years in particular, her name has been mentioned as a likely prospect. For one, she\u2019s about to drop her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, on Oct. 3, so she\u2019d be armed with new material to perform. And because the album won\u2019t be eligible for the Grammys until the 2027 edition, her schedule would likely be open for the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n \n\tShe also has a long-established relationship with the NFL, having sung the National Anthem in 2006 at the Detroit Lions\u2019 Thanksgiving Day game. In 2010, she performed at the NFL\u2019s Opening Kickoff event in New Orleans. She\u00a0teased \u201cMe!\u201d<\/a>\u00a0during the 2019 NFL draft and\u00a0debuted a trailer for\u00a0Midnights<\/em><\/a>\u00a0during the third quarter of a 2022 Thursday night game between the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
