I was probably hungover when I wrote it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"VILLANELLE - Hinge (Official Visualiser)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4Frs-SCjCK4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe trio is rounded out by guitarist Ben Taylor and bassist Jack Schiavo. \u201cGene brings the most unique perspective on both life and music of anyone I\u2019ve ever met,\u201d Taylor says in a statement. \u201cI\u2019m very organized with the way I play music, and Gene is the complete opposite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe band have also announced an underplay headline tour of the U.K, to begin December. Tickets go sale <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lnk.to\/Villanelle\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> on September 17.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tUntil this point, the only way to access Villanelle\u2019s music was to see them in concert or check out fan-shot videos on YouTube. \u201cWe were playing in Nottingham and there was a group of lads who\u2019d learned all our lyrics from live videos on YouTube,\u201d Schiavo told <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/villanelle-interview-gene-gallagher-debut-single-hinge-3890885\">NME<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThey were starting moshpits and shit, and we were just watching going, \u2018What?\u2019 Their commitment was crazy. It just got us so excited.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn 2024, they had an opportunity to face giant crowds when Gene Gallagher\u2019s father, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/oasis\/\" id=\"auto-tag_oasis\" data-tag=\"oasis\">Oasis<\/a> frontman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/liam-gallagher\/\" id=\"auto-tag_liam-gallagher\" data-tag=\"liam-gallagher\">Liam Gallagher<\/a>, gave them an opening slot on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/liam-gallagher-announces-definitely-maybe-30-years-tour-1234855260\/\"><em>Definitely Maybe<\/em> 30th anniversary tour<\/a>. With Oasis and Richard Ashcroft, those songs are timeless. It still sounds like the future of music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe Oasis shows have only inspired Villanelle to keep making their own songs. \u201cAt this point, we\u2019ve really started to dig into what our sound is,\u201d Schiavo said. \u201cWhere we meet is this mix of grunge, shoegaze, punk and alternative rock. That\u2019s right in the centre. Ben\u2019s influences are more in that English alternative rock space, mine\u2019s more of that Sixties and Seventies rock space, and then Gene\u2019s are like \u201890s American rock bands.
