Theodore Shapiro has won the 2025 Emmy Award<\/a> for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score). During last weekend\u2019s 2025 Creative Arts Emmys, the composer was honored for his work on Severance<\/em>, beating out fellow nominees Brandon Roberts (Andor<\/em>), Sherri Chung (Based on a True Story<\/em>), Leo Birenberg and Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai<\/em>), Antonio S\u00e1nchez (The Studio<\/em>), and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The White Lotus<\/em>). It\u2019s Shapiro\u2019s second Emmy Award, following his win in the same category with Severance<\/em> in 2022.<\/p>\n Shapiro\u2019s award is not to be confused with Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie, or Special (Original Dramatic Score), which went to Mick Giacchino for The Penguin<\/em>. Meanwhile, the Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics was given to Christopher Lennertz for \u201cLet\u2019s Put the Christ Back in Christmas\u201d from The Boys<\/em>.<\/p>\n This year, countless musicians were nominated<\/a> for Emmy Awards, including Kendrick Lamar, Beyonc\u00e9, Jay-Z, Kamasi Washington, Caroline Shaw, Hamilton Leithauser, Mark Ronson, Hans Zimmer, Devo co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh, and the Roots\u2019 Ahmir \u201cQuestlove\u201d Thompson.
