\n\tIron Maiden<\/a> frontman Bruce Dickinson<\/a> offered his take on the American national anthem<\/a> at Pittsburgh\u2019s Acrisure Stadium\u00a0on Sunday. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe English musician was asked to perform the song at the Pittsburgh Steelers\u2019 first home game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks, noting on Instagram that it was \u201ca huge honour\u201d to be invited. Dickinson left the field to chants of \u201cU.S.A! U.S.A!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ll let you in to a secret,\u201d Dickinson said in a\u00a0recent interview <\/a>on podcast\u00a0The Charismatic Voice<\/em>. \u201cI\u2019ve got to sing the national anthem in Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They\u2019ve asked me to do this. I\u2019m going to do it a cappella and stuff, and as long as you start at the right place, you\u2019re good to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFans were entertained by the NFL<\/a>\u2018s decision to enlist a musician from the U.K. to perform America\u2019s anthem at a very American sport. \u201cThe most random thing I saw today was a British man singing the American national anthem,\u201d one commenter wrote on Instagram. Another added, \u201cWhy is a Brit singing the American national anthem? Especially at this current time?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDickinson is currently on the North American leg of his Mandrake Project solo tour. It continues on Tuesday in Toronto before heading to Montreal later this week. The tour wraps in Los Angeles on Oct. 5 with a show at the Wiltern. <\/p>\n
