{"id":46679,"date":"2025-09-15T21:42:33","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T21:42:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/15\/clipse-perform-first-ever-rap-concert-at-the-vatican\/"},"modified":"2025-09-15T21:42:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T21:42:33","slug":"clipse-perform-first-ever-rap-concert-at-the-vatican","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/15\/clipse-perform-first-ever-rap-concert-at-the-vatican\/","title":{"rendered":"Clipse Perform First Ever Rap Concert At The Vatican"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/artist\/clipse\/\">Clipse<\/a> became the first ever Hip Hop artists to perform a rap concert at The Vatican when they joined <a href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/artist\/john-legend\">John Legend<\/a> in St. Peter\u2019s Square.<\/p>\n<p>Grace for the World was the first ever concert hosted at the iconic holy site and was co-directed by Pharrell Williams, featuring voices such as classical singer Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Hudson and country star, Jelly Roll.<\/p>\n<p>During John Legend\u2019s portion of the event, he brought out both members of the Clipse to perform their collaboration \u201cThe Birds Don\u2019t Sing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It was a fitting moment given the spiritual bent of the track and No Malice\u2019s embrace of religion in recent years.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"optanon-category-C0003\" style=\"aspect-ratio:16\/9; width:100%; height:auto; display:block;\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/UFixHZECa7A\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Virginia duo have been spreading their influence on Hip Hop this year with <a class=\"underline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/news\/freddie-gibbs-claims-to-be-inspired-by-the-clipse\/\">Freddie Gibbs claiming they have been inspiring him of late<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on\u00a0<em>The Joe Budden Podcast<\/em>, Gibbs proved he had nothing but love for the Virginia rap duo.<\/p>\n<p>Gibbs revealed his reaction to listening to the album: \u201cI hit Pusha T like \u2018That shit hard my n-gga.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also revealed his favorite song from the album was \u201cF.I.C.O.\u201d and added that it was his \u201cfavorite song right now\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Gibbs also had praise for No Malice with Budden commenting: \u201cI keep saying Malice is my rapper of the year,\u201d to which the\u00a0<em>Alfredo<\/em>\u00a0star replied \u201cYup, between me and him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"underline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hiphopdx.com\/news\/tyler-the-creator-recorded-clipse-guest-verse-almost-100-times\/\">The Clipse also mean so much to Tyler, The Creator that he recorded his verse for their album tens of times to make sure that it was perfect<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Hot 97, Tyler detailed the extreme lengths he went to to ensure he didn\u2019t let Pusha T and No Malice down, as well as Pharrell Williams who produced the track.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cIt took me about 79 to 100 times to do it, and I almost texted Pusha, \u2018I don\u2019t think this is gonna work.\u2019 It\u2019s been a few times I\u2019ve gotten nervous and trying to nail that verse with two of my Mount Rushmores, produced by Mount Rushmore, was like I can\u2019t fuck this up for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyler added that he kept Pusha waiting for the verse: \u201cIt took me so long to write that and just trying to perfect it \u2026 Was really in that bitch sweating.
