The file-sharing company, which relaunched in 2022, had won a competitive bidding war for the brand behind one of the most infamous festivals of all time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAccording to a release, LimeWire and Fyre will begin a new chapter \u201cgrounded in technology, transparency and a sense of humor.\u201d LimeWire also makes clear they want to preserve its past while taking the brand into the future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cFyre became a symbol of hype gone wrong, but it also made history,\u201d LimeWire CEO Julian Zehetmayr said in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re not bringing the festival back \u2014 we\u2019re bringing the brand and the meme back to life. This time with real experiences, and without the cheese sandwiches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAccording to <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/91404677\/limewire-bought-fyre-fest-brand\">Fast Company<\/a>, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ryan-reynolds\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ryan-reynolds\" data-tag=\"ryan-reynolds\">Ryan Reynolds<\/a>\u2018 creative agency Maximum Effort had also bid on the Fyre Festival brand. Reynolds and Maximum Effort have had a longstanding fascination with the failed festival, referencing Netflix\u2019s <em>Fyre <\/em>documentary memes in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-news\/ryan-reynolds-fyre-festival-andy-king-ad-844706\/\">a 2019 ad for his brand Aviation Gin<\/a>.
