Karol\u2019s history-making <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coachella\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coachella\" data-tag=\"coachella\">Coachella<\/a> set will take place just three years after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/coachella-2023-bad-bunny-blackpink-frank-ocean-diversity-no-white-headliners-1234658714\/\">Bad Bunny became the first Latino artist<\/a> to headline Coachella in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tKarol G celebrated the news with a short but exuberant post on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DOpnraVDWr2\/\">Instagram<\/a>, writing, \u201cLA BICHOTA ES HEADLINER\ud83d\udd25 Nos vemos en el desierto.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis will be Karol G\u2019s second time performing at Coachella, after she first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/coachella-2022-best-sets-1338953\/\">took the stage there in 2022<\/a> while promoting her third LP, <em>KG0516<\/em>. During that memorable set, Karol performed a medley of Latin crossover hits that included songs like Selena\u2019s \u201cComo La Flor,\u201d Daddy Yankee\u2019s \u201cGasolina,\u201d Shakira\u2019s \u201cHips Don\u2019t Lie,\u201d Luis Fonsi\u2019s \u201cDespacito,\u201d and J Balvin and Willy William\u2019s \u201cMi Gente\u201d (with Balvin himself making a cameo).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-latin\/karol-g-tropicoqueta-album-interview-1235367271\/\">Speaking with <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>earlier this year, Karol said she kept returning to that Coachella performance as she began to conceptualize her newest album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/karol-g-tropicoqueta-review-1235371057\/\">Tropicoqueta<\/a><\/em>. \u201cI remembered when I told my team I wanted to do that [medley] at Coachella, it was like I was saying I wanted to be that kind of artist in the future, the Latin artist that is super Latina for the world,\u201d she said. \u201cI visualized my future self to be part of that list of artists one day. I started to go back to that idea and stayed with it. I asked myself, \u2018Who is Karol G? Where do I go?
