In late 2024, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/madonna-teases-music-2025-working-with-stuart-price-1235208022\/\">revealed she was back in the studio<\/a> with Stuart Price, who produced much of the original album, and earlier this year, she said that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/madonna-confessions-2-album-confirms-1235267395\/\"><em>Confessions 2 <\/em>sequel<\/a> was in the works.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe new album, when it arrives, will mark Madonna\u2019s first since 2019\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/madonna-madame-x-album-review-847737\/\">Madame X<\/a><\/em>. She\u2019s yet to share any other details about the record, such as an exact release date or title.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tJust as notable as the new album is the fact that Madonna will be releasing it on Warner Records, where she spent the first 25 years of her career.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cFrom being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact that couldn\u2019t have been truer,\u201d Madonna said in a statement. \u201cSince the beginning Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tMadonna signed her first label deal in 1982 with Sire Records, a Warner subsidiary. While under the major label\u2019s umbrella, she released some of the biggest albums of her career \u2014 including 1985\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/like-a-virgin-2-96081\/\">Like a Virgin<\/a><\/em>, 1989\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/like-a-prayer-248995\/\">Like a Prayer<\/a><\/em>, and 1998\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-lists\/100-best-albums-of-the-90s-152425\/madonna-ray-of-light-on-ray-of-light-164954\/\">Ray of Light<\/a> \u2014 <\/em>and started an imprint of her own, Maverick.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tMadonna\u2019s deal with Warner ended with 2008\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/hard-candy-255623\/\">Hard Candy<\/a><\/em>, after which she signed a 360 deal with Live Nation that included a three-album deal with Interscope (a Universal Music Group subsidiary). Interscope has released Madonna\u2019s most recent LPs, 2012\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/mdna-203057\/\">MDNA<\/a><\/em>, 2015\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/rebel-heart-81784\/\">Rebel Heart<\/a><\/em>, and 2019\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/madonna-madame-x-album-review-847737\/\">Madame X<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn 2020, Madonna left Interscope, and the following year she announced the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/madonna-warner-music-career-spanning-reissue-campaign-partnership-1212466\/\">part of her plan to return to Warner Records<\/a>.
