Aerosmith<\/a>\u00a0and Yungblud released the collaborative\u00a0song “My Only Angel<\/a>” on Friday, marking the classic rockers’ first new music in 13 years and the\u00a0lead single off their upcoming joint EP\u00a0One More Time<\/em>, which arrives on Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

Longtime Aerosmith fans know the band is no stranger to outside collaborators \u2014 so who wrote,\u00a0produced\u00a0and performed on “My Only Angel”?<\/p>\n

Who Wrote, Produced and Played on ‘My Only Angel’?<\/h3>\n

According to Genius<\/a>, “My Only Angel” has four credited songwriters: Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler<\/a> and Joe Perry<\/a>, plus Yungblud (full name:\u00a0Dominic Richard Harrison) and his longtime producer Matt Schwartz. Schwartz, an Israeli-British producer\u00a0who got his start working with electronic music artists in the ’90s, also produced the song.<\/p>\n

Although Tyler and Perry have been acting as the public face of Aerosmith lately, appearing in the promotional images for “My Only Angel” and performing with Yungblud<\/a> at the MTV VMAs’ recent Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> tribute, they’re not the only band members who performed on the new track.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>, Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford<\/a> and bassist Tom Hamilton<\/a> also took part in the studio sessions for “My Only Angel.” Drummer Joey Kramer<\/a>, who sat out the band’s 2022 Las Vegas residency and short-lived\u00a0Peace Out\u00a0farewell tour, was absent from the sessions. Former Guns N’ Roses<\/a> drummer Matt Sorum<\/a> played on the song instead.<\/p>\n

What’s Next for Aerosmith?<\/h3>\n

With four-fifths of the original lineup on the track, “My Only Angel” marks the\u00a0closest thing to a full Aerosmith reunion since they canceled their farewell tour<\/a> and retired from the road last summer\u00a0due to\u00a0a vocal injury Tyler sustained at the beginning of the trek.<\/p>\n

Perry has not ruled out a final Aerosmith show<\/a>.\u00a0“We’re talking about it. I mean, except for anything on the calendar, we’re all alive and well, so we’ll just have to see,” he told Eddie Trunk in June. “I know there’s gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one.”<\/p>\n

In more concrete news, the\u00a0One More Time<\/em>\u00a0EP will feature four more songs from Aerosmith and Yungblud, including a “2025 mix” of the 1976\u00a0Rocks<\/em><\/a> classic “Back in the Saddle.”<\/p>\n
