\n\tAmanda Shires<\/a> arrived a little late for her interview with Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s Nashville Now<\/a> <\/em>podcast: The Americana singer-songwriter got pulled over by the police. When she couldn\u2019t find her registration, Shires began rooting through her glove compartment with the officer as the contents of her life spilled out.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI got in my car, blaring some Waylon Jennings,\u201d Shires says on Nashville Now<\/em>, \u201cand I was driving down the road and a policeman pulled me over. He said, \u2018Do you know why I\u2019m pulling you over?\u2019 I said, \u2018It could be a lot of reasons.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAccording to Shires, the officer informed her that her tags were expired and asked for her registration. The only problem was, she couldn\u2019t find it: \u201cSo, I opened the glovebox and all my stuff fell out,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n \n\tAmong the items: a tuner, tampons, lint rollers, assorted papers, snacks, and an extra swimsuit and pair of underwear. \u201cYou don\u2019t know when you\u2019re going to shit yourself on accident,\u201d Shires says.<\/p>\n \n\tIn the end, Shires wasn\u2019t cited, but she did receive a police escort nearly all the way to the Nashville Now<\/em> cabin studio. \u201cI thought for sure this is not the way I\u2019m going to jail,\u201d Shires quips.<\/p>\n
