\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKoury Angelo<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\tFor the first installment of their collaborative project, Brent,<\/em> Cutler recalls returning to the same cabin where the two artists met and settling back into their \u201csibling-esque friendship\u201d adding, \u201cMan, did those three days change the trajectory of our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe conversation then turned to the artists\u2019 solo work. Zucker spoke of his most recent album Garden State<\/em> and his home state\u2019s influence on the work describing a \u201cmismatch between what I knew as my home and how I felt about it.\u201d Ultimately he says, \u201cHome is where you\u2019re surrounded by people that love you and people that you love.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tCutler described her new EP, if i could just stop the time,<\/em> as \u201can extremely vulnerable body of work.\u201d The EP explores heartbreak and how it can feel \u201cvery acute in the moment, but as time goes on you\u2019re able to zoom out and heal.\u201d She adds that, \u201cMaking that mixtape was so important for me to kind of metabolize what I was going through\u201d she says of the work.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n \n\tWhen asked about each other, the artists were eager to gush. This mutual admiration and friendship is evident in their newest collaboration, Brent iii<\/em>. With one experiencing heartbreak and the other finding new love, the artists took care of each other while creating the album, \u201cI was a nightmare\u2026Jeremy was really patient with me.\u201d Cutler remembers. \u201cOne of the beautiful things about getting to make music with your friend is that so much of what we wrote just came from us having really honest conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKoury Angelo<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\tAs they transitioned into their collaborative performance, a first for the Musicians on Musicians series, the space suddenly felt like the living room of that cabin in Connecticut. The artists smiled at each other and began playing, \u2018you were good to me,\u2019 from the first Brent<\/em> installment, then into \u2018Emily\u2019 from Brent ii.<\/em> They brought the tempo up a bit for \u2018A-Frame\u2019 from their latest album, Brent iii, <\/em>the audience singing along all the while.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tAfter their collaborative set, Zucker took the stage for his solo performances, kicking off with \u2018Hometown,\u2019 the first song off his new album. He then switched to the electric guitar, and performed one of his early songs, \u2018come thru,\u2019 which he says has \u201ctaken me around the world.\u201d As he wrapped up, he assured the audience that Chelsea would be up next \u201cto make you guys cry.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKoury Angelo<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\tCutler reemerged to cacophonous applause. She grabbed the guitar and her strumming seemed to quiet midtown Manhattan as she began her set with \u2018Crazier Things.\u2019 She then got vulnerable with the audience about her newest work, saying, \u201cThese songs were really hard to write,\u201d adding that \u201cI haven\u2019t really performed them live, but I felt like tonight was a kind of intimate chance to get to do them.\u201d She performed \u2018if i could just stop the time,\u2019 and \u2018i\u2019ll have a good life darling, but it won\u2019t be with you.\u2019 She then took it back to her earlier days with \u2018Your Shirt\u2019 and \u2018Your Bones.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n \t\tRelated Content<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n \n\tThroughout the evening, fans could be seen mouthing along to every song, a true testament to the artists\u2019 loyal and present fanbase in New York.
