It was the first time in two years he and his Earthlings bandmates \u2014 guitarists Andrew Watt, Josh Klinghoffer and Glen Hansard; Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and bassist Chris Chaney \u2014 performed together. To mark the occasion, they delivered several covers alongside <em>Earthling <\/em>and Pearl Jam songs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThey kicked it all off with a cover of Devo\u2019s \u201cGut Feeling\u201d before launching into Pearl Jam\u2019s \u201cCorduroy.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Eddie Vedder &amp; the Earthlings \u201cCorduroy\u201d 09\/26\/25 Dana Point, CA @pearljam \" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nBgAEWV7k4Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDuring the latter part of their set, which earlier included a cover of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=F3sV-7e5p9w\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">the Who\u2019s \u201cI\u2019m One,\u201d<\/a> the band jammed out Led Zeppelin\u2019s instrumental intro of \u201cThe Song Remains the Same\u201d before launching into Pearl Jam\u2019s \u201cRearviewmirror.\u201d Prior to performing the songs, Vedder shouted out \u201call the magnificent human beings\u201d that were playing the festival. \u201cJust legends, so many great women on the stages all day today and through the weekend,\u201d he said before giving props to Garbage\u2019s Shirley Manson, Madrid\u2019s Hinds, Jessica Dobson from Deep Sea Diver, Akira Galaxy, and Kim Deal, and he also shouted out his wife and additionally Yeah Yeah Yeahs\u2019 Karen O, who was not performing but apparently in the audience.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Eddie Vedder \u201cSong Remains the Same Jam + Rearview Mirror\u201d 09\/26\/25 Ohana Festival, Dana Point, CA \" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NOu9QDLYdc0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFollowing the shout-outs, Vedder shared a story about a high school administrator whose mission he said was \u201cto ruin my life.\u201d But music got him through. \u201cThere was this piece of music, and I\u2019ll never forgot where I was or how loud it was, and for some reason, this piece of music \u2014 not even the words, nothing \u2014 it was like a drug,\u201d Vedder said. \u201cIt lifted me up. It was a lift-off. I realized, you know what? Fuck that guy. And someday, he will mean nothing to you,\u201d he said. Later, he added, \u201cWe will play this piece of music and I will let it be a reminder that music is power. Music has power. You should be responsible with the power of that music and a voice and a microphone and communicating to people that we trust and we\u2019re grateful they can trust us \u2026 This person who had ill will for me?
