The musician offered a surprise performance at the premiere of biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n \n\tBruce Springsteen<\/a> took the stage following the New York Film Festival premiere of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere<\/a><\/em> last night for a surprise performance of his song \u201cLand of Hope and Dreams.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tBefore showcasing the song on acoustic guitar, Springsteen took the opportunity to reflect on the film, which stars Jeremy Allen White<\/a> as the musician himself. Springsteen thanked the actor for \u201cplaying a much better-looking version of me\u201d and then thanked Jeremy Strong<\/a> for playing \u201ca much,\u00a0much<\/em>\u00a0better-looking version\u201d of his manager Jon Landau. <\/p>\n \n\tThe musician also honored his late parents, Douglas \u201cDutch\u201d Springsteen and Adele Springsteen, who are portrayed by recent Emmy winner Stephen Graham and Gaby Hoffman in the movie. \u201cThey\u2019re all gone now, so it\u2019s nice to have this piece of film,\u201d he noted. <\/p>\n \n\tAfter thanking numerous people involved in the film, Springsteen turned the speech political. \u201cThese days we have daily events reminding us of the fact that we\u2019re living through these particularly dangerous times,\u201d Springsteen told the audience. \u201cI spent my life on the road, I\u2019ve been moving around the world as kind of a musical ambassador for America, trying to measure the distance between American reality, where we\u2019ve often fallen short of our ideals of the American dream.\u201d <\/p>\n
