Dry Cleaning<\/a> are back with another new album. The London-based post-punk band will release Secret Love<\/em><\/a>, their upcoming third LP, on January 9 via 4AD<\/a>. They\u2019re ringing in that news today by sharing the lead single \u201cHit My Head All Day,\u201d which you can listen to below.<\/p>\n \u201cThe song is about manipulation of the body and mind,\u201d explains singer Florence Shaw. \u201cThe lyrics were initially inspired by the use of misinformation on social media by the far right. There are powerful people that seek to influence our behavior for their own gain; to buy certain things, to vote a certain way. I find it hard to read people\u2019s intentions and decide who to trust, even in everyday life. It\u2019s easy to fall under the influence of a sinister stranger who seems like a friend.\u201d<\/p>\n Secret Love<\/em> is Dry Cleaning\u2019s third studio album, following 2023\u2019s Stumpwork<\/em><\/a>. The four-piece fleshed out the 11-track album over a series of sessions around the world, beginning with a stop at Jeff Tweedy\u2019s Chicago studio The Loft, and louder takes with Gilla Band\u2019s Alan Duggan and Daniel Fox at Dublin\u2019s Sonic Studios. In the end, Dry Cleaning tapped Cate Le Bon to produce the album, heading out to France\u2019s remote Black Box to record with the experimental indie rock figure.<\/p>\n Dry Cleaning still have a handful of upcoming concerts on their docket as part of their ongoing 2025 tour<\/a>.
