On Wednesday, the indie-pop star announced that she\u2019ll release her album <em>Melt<\/em>, under her solo project, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/maria-the-marias-not-for-radio-solo-project-1235412687\/\">Not for Radio<\/a>, on Oct. 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cMy intention with this project was to make music for the love of experimenting, far from home, fully in the moment, open to whatever stream of consciousness unfolded around us,\u201d Zardoya wrote on Instagram. \u201cAnd that\u2019s exactly what we did in the snowy woods, tucked away, as ice melted beneath our feet and as we melted into the songs. What grew from the melted ice is this album.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tZardoya recorded the album in January 2025 at Flying Cloud Recordings in upstate New York, working with Sam Evian and Luca Buccellati to make an album that unfolded from unplugging and \u201cimmersing themselves in nature and music.\u201d <em>Melt<\/em> will feature ten tracks, including songs titled \u201cSlip,\u201d \u201cMy Turn,\u201d \u201cMagnet,\u201d \u201cVueltas,\u201d and \u201cWater  on Your Nose.\u201d It\u2019s being released via Atlantic Records.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tOn Instagram, Zardoya wrote: \u201cI\u2019ll cherish those moments forever. It was scary branching out on my own, but I felt so supported, understood, and protected by you.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tZardoya has been teasing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/not-for-radio\/\" id=\"auto-tag_not-for-radio\" data-tag=\"not-for-radio\">Not for Radio<\/a>, which she describes as \u201cmy alternate reality,\u201d for several months. Back in August, she announced in a voice message shared to Spotify for Not for Radio. \u201cI wanted to explore on my own what it meant to love and to lose. And I keep asking myself the question: Is love worth the pain?\u201d she said at the time. \u201cIf there\u2019s a pain that only love can cause \u2014 the ache of someone\u2019s absence, of knowing that they once lived there inside your home, tangible and tender \u2014 but now reside only inside your memory. I\u2019m ready to find out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe Not for Radio release follows the Mar\u00edas\u2019 massive 2024 album <em>Submarine<\/em>. At the time, Zardoya made clear: \u201cThe band will be here forever.
