Yo La Tengo<\/a> and Jad Fair<\/a> have announced a reissue<\/a> of their rare 1998 collaborative LP Strange but True<\/em>. Long out-of-print and unavailable to stream, the album will be released on vinyl, CD, and, for the first time, digital platforms. All versions are set to arrive December 12 via Joyful Noise<\/a> and Bar\/None<\/a>. Listen to \u201cTexas Man Abducted By Aliens for Outer Space Joyride\u201d below.<\/p>\n The songs on Strange but True<\/em> are titled after headlines from the periodical Weekly World News, which were gathered by David Fair, Jad Fair\u2019s brother and bandmate in Half Japanese<\/a>. \u201cWhen I started as a musician, I just wanted to sound like myself,\u201d Jad Fair said in a press statement. \u201cYou would think that would be the easiest thing to do, but, for most people, it\u2019s difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n Yo La Tengo shared their latest studio album, This Stupid World<\/em><\/a>, in 2023.
