Alan Parsons, Ambrosia, Peter Beckett, Al Stewart, and more have pulled out of the smooth rock festival scheduled for late October<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\tSunset Fest Cabo \u2014 the luxury event billed as a yacht rock paradise on the sandy shores of Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico \u2014 is facing rough waters as a majority of the artists scheduled for the three-day lineup have suddenly dropped from the roster.<\/p>\n
\n\tHeadliner Alan Parsons<\/a> announced<\/a> on Tuesday that due to \u201ccircumstances outside of Alan Parson Live Project\u2019s control\u201d their performance at Sunset Fest Cabo will \u201cno longer be taking place.\u201d Kenny Loggins<\/a>, Christopher Cross<\/a>, Al Stewart, Peter Beckett, and Pablo Cruise also shared similar statements in the past week.<\/p>\n \n\tAmbrosia<\/a>, whose frontman Joe Puerta previously hailed<\/a> the Cabo event the \u201cWOODSTOCK OF YACHT ROCK\u201d also announced that they will not be performing. \u201cWe are deeply saddened at the sudden turn of events that has forced us into this decision,\u201d wrote<\/a> the band on social media. The group clarified that the decision to cancel \u201chad nothing to do with health issues of the band.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe festival, which is slated to make its debut on Oct. 24 and run until Oct. 26, has not officially been canceled, although tickets on the event website appear to no longer be available for purchase. While Parsons and Loggins \u2014 the Saturday and Sunday headliners, respectively \u2014 have pulled out, Friday headliner Rick Springfield<\/a> is still scheduled to appear (a rep for Springfield did not immediately return Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment). Fans inquiring on ticket refunds were directed to contact their point of purchase.<\/p>\n \n\tDespite the lineup fallout, the event\u2019s homepage has not taken down its invite to have an \u201cunforgettable experience\u201d with \u201cworld-class performances, luxury accommodations, and thrilling excursions.\u201d However, links to VIP and resort packages appear to be broken.<\/p>\n
