For each, we\u2019re predicting the nominees, as well as who will (and who should) win on Grammy night.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA fictional band, a Puerto Rican superstar, and a popstar who rhymes \u201camen\u201d with \u201chey men.\u201d Our predictions for Song of the Year vary wildly, but if there\u2019s one thing we know about the Grammys, it\u2019s that they like to keep us on our toes \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-lists\/grammys-2023-best-worst-moments-1234672279\/best-brandi-carlile-rocks-out-1234674240\/\">specifically <\/a>when it comes to this category. The eight songs we\u2019ve chosen dominated charts, garnered new fans, and are likely to take home the big win. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThe talent on display is next level,\u201d says Alex Tear, SiriusXM\u2019s Vice President of Music Programming. \u201cWorld-class songwriting, powerful storytelling, and real energy that\u2019s connecting with their respective audiences. They\u2019ve all put in the grind \u2014 and delivered. Carpenter has two Grammy wins under her belt, but not in this category \u2014 \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d lost to Lamar\u2019s \u201cNot Like Us\u201d last year. Her finally winning Song of the Year for this disco rodeo jam seems like a no-brainer. (Or, basically: \u201cWhy so sexy if so dumb?\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cSabrina has had an incredible year,\u201d says Larry Calderon Jr., the program director for Y100.7 in Miami. \u201cHitting that Number One hot debut, and Jack Antonoff continuing to produce so many bangers for her. It\u2019s really sharp lyricism that we got there. She\u2019s been grinding for a long time, well over a decade, so it\u2019s well deserved, and I\u2019m super happy for her.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"who-should-win\" class=\"heading larva \/\/   lrv-a-font-primary-l   \">\n\t\tWho Should Win?\t<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<strong><em>Gracie Abrams, \u201cThat\u2019s So True\u201d<\/em><\/strong><br \/>While Carpenter and Chappell Roan (for her lovesick stunner \u201cThe Subway\u201d) are likely to score in this category, it would be incredible to see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/gracie-abrams-debut-album-good-riddance-taylor-swift-tour-1234675320\/\">Gracie Abrams<\/a> win her first-ever Grammy \u2014 especially for the highly addictive rollercoaster ride that is \u201cThat\u2019s So True.\u201d Co-written with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/audrey-hobert-whos-the-clown-review-1235407920\/\">Audrey Hobert<\/a> and released off <em>The Secret of Us (Deluxe)<\/em>, it marks Abrams\u2019 first Top 10 hit. She\u2019s already been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/gracie-abrams-grammys-2024-best-new-artist-1234874988\/\">nominated<\/a> for two Grammys. She deserves to take one home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cShe was touring with Taylor Swift and getting co-signed,\u201d Tear says. \u201cOne of the most impressive things I think about Gracie is her sincerity in songwriting. She\u2019s a storyteller. Her audience and her fans are dialing into her, and experiencing things that she\u2019s experiencing. I can\u2019t wait to hear what\u2019s next from Gracie, but she\u2019s definitely deserving of being recognized by the Academy this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"forecasting-the-field\" class=\"heading larva \/\/   lrv-a-font-primary-l   \">\n\t\tForecasting the Field\t<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tGaga has been nominated in the category four times and has yet to win, so her taking this home for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/lady-gaga-mayhem-review-1235291651\/\"><em>Mayhem<\/em><\/a> highlight \u201cAbracadabra\u201d would be a massive victory for the singer. \u201cI believe her to be a front-runner,\u201d says Tear. \u201cShe does great work, she\u2019s been doing it for a long time. She continues to deliver air-defining music. That\u2019s one kid who, if he goes up on stage and receives this, I would love to see his authentic and sincere reaction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThen again, we wouldn\u2019t be surprised if Bad Bunny took this award home, for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/bad-bunny-debi-tirar-mas-fotos-review-1235226562\/\"><em>Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos<\/em><\/a> highlight \u201cBaile Inolvidable.\u201d 2026 is already shaping up to be The Year of Bad Bunny, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/2026-super-bowl-halftime-show-headliner-bad-bunny-1235423852\/\">headlining<\/a> slot at the Super Bowl LX halftime show and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-latin\/bad-bunny-tour-dates-1235331322\/\">world tour<\/a> in the works. Winning this Grammy award \u2014 or several, for that matter \u2014 would be historic. \u201cI think Bad Bunny is going to be a surprise factor for the Grammys,\u201d says Calderon Jr. \u201cHe has been able to cross over so flawlessly, in a way that no other artist on the Latin side has been able to do.
