{"id":48372,"date":"2025-10-05T16:02:44","date_gmt":"2025-10-05T16:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/05\/the-who-hosts-charity-concert-with-fogerty-def-leppard-more\/"},"modified":"2025-10-05T16:02:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-05T16:02:44","slug":"the-who-hosts-charity-concert-with-fogerty-def-leppard-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/05\/the-who-hosts-charity-concert-with-fogerty-def-leppard-more\/","title":{"rendered":"The Who Hosts Charity Concert With Fogerty, Def Leppard + More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/who\" target=\"_blank\">Who<\/a>\u00a0pulled out all the stops for their 10th annual Backyard Concert on Friday\u00a0in support of Teen Cancer America and the UCLA Health Center, briefly sharing the stage with <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/eddie-vedder\" target=\"_blank\">Eddie Vedder<\/a> and performing\u00a0alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/doobie-brothers\" target=\"_blank\">Doobie Brothers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/john-fogerty\" target=\"_blank\">John Fogerty<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/def-leppard\" target=\"_blank\">Def Leppard<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/peter-frampton\" target=\"_blank\">Peter Frampton<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/cheap-trick\" target=\"_blank\">Cheap Trick<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can see all of the set lists from the star-studded\u00a0event below.<\/p>\n<p>The Backyard Concert took place in Los Angeles just two days after the Who played the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/the-who-last-american-show\/\" target=\"_blank\">final show<\/a> of their North American farewell tour in Thousand Palms, California. <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/pete-townshend\" target=\"_blank\">Pete Townshend<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/roger-daltrey\" target=\"_blank\">Roger Daltrey<\/a> and Co. delivered a seven-song set featuring classics such as &#8220;I Can&#8217;t Explain,&#8221; &#8220;Who Are You,&#8221; &#8220;Won&#8217;t Get Fooled Again&#8221; and a Vedder-assisted rendition of &#8220;The Kids Are Alright.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/who-albums-ranked\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Who Albums Ranked From Worst to Best<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Vedder had another cameo during Fogerty&#8217;s six-song set, joining the ex-<a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/creedence-clearwater-revival\" target=\"_blank\">Creedence Clearwater Revival<\/a> bandleader for a rousing performance of &#8220;Fortunate Son.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It was also a historic evening for Def Leppard, who performed their first all-acoustic show since 1995, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.setlist.fm\/setlist\/def-leppard\/2025\/private-venue-los-angeles-ca-2b400c02.html\" target=\"_blank\">setlist.fm<\/a>. &#8220;Good times at\u00a0the Who&#8217;s 2025 Backyard Concert,&#8221; the English rockers wrote on social media. &#8220;Thanks for having us, it was an honor to be a part of the event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Television host and former MTV VJ Matt Pinfield posted about the\u00a0show on his social media, calling it &#8220;the greatest backyard concert ever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>What Will the Who Do Now That Their Farewell Tour Is Over?<\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s anyone&#8217;s guess whether the Who will actually retire from the road now that they&#8217;ve completed The Song Is Over farewell tour, but their farewell speeches at Wednesday&#8217;s concert had an air of finality to them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I suppose, you know, it&#8217;s goodbye,&#8221; Townshend\u00a0told the crowd at Thousand Palms&#8217; Acrisure Arena. &#8220;That&#8217;s what it is. To what we know as the Who, it&#8217;s goodbye. What Roger and I will get up to next, who knows? If we last any longer, I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;ll get up to all kinds of mischief. We&#8217;ll do stuff together, I&#8217;m sure sharing some stuff, all kinds bits and pieces. But for this kind of thing, it&#8217;s goodbye.
