EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert <\/em>boasts re-discovered and restored outtakes from the King’s 1970 Las Vegas residency and 1972 American tour, as well as other archival finds<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n \n\tA new Elvis Presley<\/a> concert film, directed by Baz Luhrmann<\/a> and featuring a trove of previously unreleased footage and recordings, is set to hit theaters in 2026, Variety<\/a> <\/em>reports.<\/p>\n \n\tEPiC: Elvis Presley<\/a> in Concert <\/em>is centered largely around recently discovered video of Presley\u2019s famous 1970 Las Vegas residency<\/a> and his 1972 North American tour<\/a>. It also features new 8mm footage from the Graceland archives, as well as recordings of Presley discussing his life, which Luhrmann discovered while working on the 2022 biopic, Elvis<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tEPiC<\/em> premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last month. It\u2019s since been acquired by Neon, which will release the movie theatrically in the U.S. in 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tIn a new statement, Luhrmann described EPiC<\/em> as \u201can experience that is not just a documentary and not just a concert film.\u201d He added: \u201cFrom the first day my editor, Jonathan Redmond, and I encountered this rare and never-before-seen footage of Elvis almost 8 years ago, it has been our mission that Elvis should finally fulfill his unrealized dream to tour around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tMost of the unreleased footage was originally filmed for Presley\u2019s two early Seventies concert films: 1970\u2019s Elvis: That\u2019s the Way It Is <\/em>and 1972\u2019s Elvis on Tour<\/em>. As Luhrmann previously explained<\/a>, he set out to find this lost footage at the start of making Elvis<\/em>, originally thinking that, if they were able to find it, they might be able to restore it and use it in the biopic.\u00a0<\/p>\n
