While Simmons and Frehley were known for their complex and often fraught relationship, Frehley\u2019s unpredictable nature and distinctive laugh counterbalanced Simmons more somber, business-minded demeanor. As <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/kiss-ace-frehley-laugh-interview-1235449092\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>\u2018s Joseph Hudak put it, \u201cIf Simmons\u2019 Demon was Kiss\u2019 scowl, then Frehley\u2019s Spaceman was its cackle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Simmons\u2019 remembrance of Frehley posted to social media, the singer began, \u201cOur hearts are broken. Ace has passed on. No one can touch Ace\u2019s legacy.\u201d He continued, \u201cI know he loved the fans. He told me many times. Sadder still, Ace didn\u2019t live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Ctr Honors event in Dec. Ace was the eternal rock soldier.
