Reba McEntire<\/a> has done a lot of living \u2014 and just as much learning.<\/p>\n Despite countless awards and life-changing milestones, turning 70 gave the country legend a new kind of clarity.<\/p>\n McEntire recently opened up about the hardest lesson she\u2019s ever had to learn \u2014 and it wasn\u2019t about music, money, or fame. It was about being present<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe hardest lesson was to quit living for tomorrow and for yesterday,\u201d The Voice coach told People<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThat\u2019s really hard to do, but it\u2019s so rewarding when it clicks.\u201d<\/p>\n Read More:<\/strong><\/em> 6 Country Stars Who\u2019ve Worked Hard as Heck in 2025<\/a><\/p>\n She noted that she\u2019s still working on it \u2014 but the shift has changed her perspective.<\/p>\n \u201cI used to think being content was a no-no, because if you\u2019re content, you\u2019re not going to strive to continue to do better,\u201d she explained. \u201cThat\u2019s not true.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEnjoy every minute,<\/a>\u201d McEntire added \u2014 advice she says she shares often with young artists on The Voice and anyone else who asks.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a mindset that\u2019s helped her let go of stress \u2014 whether it\u2019s \u201cthe little stuff or the big stuff\u201d \u2014 and focus on what really matters.<\/p>\n After more than 50 years in country music, McEntire has no plans to slow down<\/a> \u2014 at least not completely.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know when [I\u2019ll retire]. It could be in 20 years,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cI think I\u2019ll know when it\u2019s the time.\u201d<\/p>\n She recalled asking Dolly Parton<\/a> how she knew when to stop, and the response stuck with her: \u201cWhy would I?
