\n\tThere\u2019s a scene<\/a> in the beginning of Practical Magic<\/em><\/a>, where a young Sally Owens (Sandra Bullock\u2019s character, played by Camilla Belle) casts a spell on herself to ensure she\u2019ll never fall in love. She retrieves herbs and white flower petals, putting them into a wooden bowl that she holds up to the evening sky. As the ingredients magically rise and fly towards the full moon, Stevie Nicks<\/a>\u2019 \u201cCrystal\u201d begins to play, the hypnotic violin swirling through the darkness.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tBy the time Practical Magic<\/em> hit theaters in October 1998, \u201cCrystal\u201d was 25 years old, and had lived more lives than most witches. It\u2019s been recorded three separate times: in 1973, with Nicks\u2019 then-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham<\/a>, on their joint album Buckingham Nicks<\/em><\/a>; a second time in 1975, with Fleetwood Mac<\/a>, after the couple joined the band; and then a third time by Nicks herself, for Practical Magic<\/em>. (Nicks wrote \u201cCrystal,\u201d but she didn\u2019t sing it until the film; Buckingham took the lead on the first two versions.)<\/p>\n
