Black Thought<\/a>\u2018s Streams of Thought Vol. 4<\/em> is an album you don\u2019t want to sleep on \u2014 according to the man himself, anyway.<\/p>\n During a sit-down with Redman<\/a> for Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>\u2018s \u201cMusicians On Musicians\u201d series, the legendary Roots<\/a> lyricist shed light on his upcoming solo project and did little to dampen excitement for it, crowning it his \u201copus.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn many ways, I feel like it\u2019s my opus. It has the most features, the most elaborate beats, crazy samples,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n Black Thought also explained the lengthy delay behind the album, which is part of the series of solo efforts he began dropping in 2018. (The most recent one, Streams of Thought Vol. 3<\/em><\/a>, arrived in 2020.)<\/p>\n \u201cPart of that is the problem, trying to get all this stuff cleared,\u201d he said of the seemingly complicated sample clearance process.<\/p>\n
