On Friday, the country singer released her album, <em>Second Wind<\/em>, which follows Kay as she finds love again after a volatile relationship and divorce that inspired 2023\u2019s <em>All I\u2019ve Ever Known<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThis record represents growth out of a time when my whole life was just falling apart,\u201d Kay tells <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cI feel like I\u2019m giving a lot of hope to a lot of people who connected with the last record\u2026 The same women that I held in my arms that were bawling their eyes out because they were leaving their relationship are now, two years later, introducing me to their new boyfriends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tKay says the new record features several \u201cwindows-down moments,\u201d dance tracks, and loads of feminine energy \u2014 but also a reflection of her healing. \u201cWe kick off the album with [\u2018Better Off,\u2019] a song that feels like it lives in the world of the last record,\u201d she says. \u201cSo then I can slowly bring people in from all I\u2019ve ever known land into <em>Second Wind<\/em> because healing isn\u2019t linear, and I didn\u2019t want the record to feel like I just popped out and was like, \u2018I\u2019m not heartbroken anymore.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Second Wind\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/6rjNkK9EEOIHUoqGeaxEhY?si=cLIkiBZyRwWd1h7tzgdlig&amp;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tShe adds, \u201cI put a lot of time and effort into the sequencing of the record so you could really feel that and feel me trust somebody again with your heart. I just want to be that light at the end of the tunnel for people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tKay is particularly excited for people to hear songs \u201cRight Now\u201d and \u201cMeasure of a Man,\u201d on which she changes her perspective on what truly makes a man a man. \u201cIt\u2019s not about fixing a hole in the wall.
