She was 100.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/10\/25\/june-lockhart-lassie-lost-in-space-dies\/86902826007\/\" target=\"_blank\">June passed away peacefully of natural causes on Thursday (Oct. 23) at 9:20 p.m. in Santa Monica, Calif.<\/a>, with her daughter, June Elizabeth, and granddaughter, Christianna, by her side.<\/p>\n<p>Her family shared that funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, they are asking for donations to <a href=\"https:\/\/entertainmentcommunity.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Actors Fund<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">ProPublica<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/bestfriends.org\/partners\/international-hearing-dog-inc\" target=\"_blank\">International Hearing Dog, Inc<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>From Stage to Screen<\/h3>\n<p>Born in 1925 in New York City to actor parents Gene and Kathleen Lockhart, June was destined for the spotlight.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read More:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/kimberly-williams-paisley-diane-keaton-death-tribute\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kimberly Williams-Paisley Pays Tribute to Friend + Co-Star Diane Keaton After Her Passing<\/a><\/p>\n<p>She made her stage debut at just 8 years old in a Metropolitan Opera production of <em>Peter Ibbetson<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>By 1938, she had joined her parents on screen in <em>A Christmas Carol.<\/em> Her father played Bob Cratchit, her mother played Mrs. Cratchit, and June portrayed their daughter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought my parents were wonderful as the Cratchits, and it was just great fun to see how a film was made,\u201d she told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amestrib.com\/story\/entertainment\/local\/2014\/12\/20\/june-lockhart-remembers-christmas-carol\/27278526007\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Ames Tribune<\/em><\/a> in 2014.
