The singer and songwriter indefinitely delayed her second album after her book of songs slated for the record were taken in a car theft last October, but she received a crucial update<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\tRaye<\/a> still hasn\u2019t figured out the whereabouts of her soulmate, the premise of her latest single\u00a0\u201cWhere Is My Husband,\u201d\u00a0<\/a>but at the very least, she now knows where her stolen car containing her prized songwriting books ended up. Last October, the singer and songwriter indefinitely delayed<\/a> her second studio album after her book of songs slated for the record were taken in a car theft just ahead of her birthday.<\/p>\n \n\tAbout three months ago, Raye revealed on the EE Official Big Top 40 From Global that she got a call from the police. They found her car \u2014 and the songbooks along with it.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt was a roller coaster journey, but what I didn\u2019t tell everyone is the police called me maybe two or three months ago, and they were like, \u2018We found your car,’\u201d Raye said. \u201cNot only did I get it back, not one thing had been taken out of the car. All my songwriting books were there, untouched.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWhen Raye initially announced the theft, she did so in an Instagram post celebrating her 27th birthday. \u201cIt\u2019s my birthday and my car got stolen with all my song writing books in the boot so no second album any time soon love you bye,\u201d she wrote. She mourned and celebrated with a cake that read \u201csorry ur car got stolen\u201d in red frosting.<\/p>\n \n\tThis weekend, Raye turned 28 and entered her new year with more optimism than she had last year. \u201cI\u2019ll be spending it in the studio which is a bit sad isn\u2019t it? Or beautiful,\u201d she wrote on Instagram. \u201cBit of a loner these days but I don\u2019t mind it at all. I\u2019m writing a lot. Can\u2019t wait to show you this music, just need to finish it all first.\u201d <\/p>\n
