\n\tAnyone hoping to see Rene\u00e9 Rapp <\/a>in Tampa, Florida, tonight should rethink their plans. In an Instagram post yesterday, Rapp announced she had canceled that show, as well as last night\u2019s in Atlanta, over medical issues.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIn my career I have never had to do this before \u2014 but I have to reschedule tonight and tomorrow\u2019s shows,\u201d she wrote on an Instagram Story. \u201cI\u2019ve been pushing through an illness but my body has finally given out. My doctors have told me that it isn\u2019t safe to perform due to the need for vocal rest and physical recovery.\u201d In the same post, Rapp announced that the Tampa show would now take place Nov. 4, while the one in Atlanta is now scheduled for Nov. 5. A rep for Rapp did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n \n\tUp until these rescheduled shows, Rapp\u2019s Bite Me<\/em> tour had been moving along since it launched in late September. Rapp played her first headlining shows at major venues like New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden and Brooklyn\u2019s Barclay Center, with a set list heavy on songs from her current Bite Me<\/em> album<\/a>; at select shows, she also slipped in covers of Beyonc\u00e9 \u201cEgo,\u201d Keyshia Cole\u2019s \u201cLove,\u201d and Rihanna\u2019s \u201cJames Joint.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe last few years, Rapp has been full throttle: She\u2019s released two albums and co-starred in HBO\u2019s The Sex Lives of College Girls<\/em> and in the screen musical version of Mean Girls<\/em>. (Adding to her workload, she even recorded Bite Me<\/em> during the filming of Mean Girls<\/em>.) As she told Rolling Stone<\/em> in July<\/a>, \u201cI like to make sure that the ball will always be in my court, even if I got royally fucked over and terrorized by people I worked with. I\u2019ve never wanted to give anyone any power over me even if they\u2019ve hurt me, like those are my emotions. Those are my feelings. I just approach everything with a dark-humored resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n
