Loading up the track\u2019s big belt-along chorus, singer-guitarist Julia Steiner sings, \u201cI can\u2019t relax now\/I can\u2019t, you\u2019re gone\/But when you\u2019re back\/I\u2019m going anywhere\/That you\u2019re going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe song also arrives with a music video, directed by Bobby Butterscotch, that offers up a classic portrait: That of a man and his beloved pet \u2014 in this case, a goldfish. The inseparable pair enjoy a diner breakfast, read together in the park, and at the end, post up on the shores of Lake Michigan to enjoy the Chicago skyline, and then take a dip together.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ratboys - &quot;Anywhere&quot; [Official Music Video]\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KYUMoL9FrIA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe story also nods back to one of the figures that partly inspired \u201cAnywhere\u201d: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ratboys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ratboys\" data-tag=\"ratboys\">Ratboys<\/a> guitarist Dave Sagan\u2019s family dog. \u201cWhenever Dave\u2019s mom leaves the room, oh man, his whole world just falls apart,\u201d Steiner said of the pup in a statement. \u201cYou can see it in his face. I think a lot of us can relate to that sort of anxious attachment style.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tRatboys are set to release <em>Singin\u2019 to an Empty Chair <\/em>on Feb. 6, 2026. Much of the album \u2014 which follows their 2023 effort <em>The Window <\/em>\u2014 was written and recorded at a cabin in Wisconsin\u2019s Driftless Area, while additional sessions took place at Steve Albini\u2019s Electrical Audio in Chicago and Rosebud Studio in Evanston, Illinois. <em>Singin\u2019 to an Empty Chair <\/em>was co-produced by Chris Walla, who also helmed <em>The Window<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn a statement, Steiner said, \u201cA big, overarching theme of this record is my attempt to document my experience being estranged from a close loved one. There are plenty of good days, days filled with friendship and love, and then there are days when I dwell on things and desperately want to bridge the gap. It\u2019s my whole life, you know?
