The Rhiannon Rae Ellis-directed video is characteristically provocative, interspersing clips of revolutionary figures like Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, and Muhammad Ali with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/chuck-d\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chuck-d\" data-tag=\"chuck-d\">Chuck D<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/flavor-flav\/\" id=\"auto-tag_flavor-flav\" data-tag=\"flavor-flav\">Flavor Flav<\/a> in a room full of televisions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe video begins with footage of Ruby Bridges walking into New Orleans\u2019 William Frantz Elementary School in 1960, ending the school\u2019s years of segregation. It then shifts to actress Safara-Cree Stiggers depicting a young Bridges, opening a door that leads into the video\u2019s main setting. From there, Olympian water polo player Ashleigh Johnson assumes the roles of beloved figures such as Prince, Tommie Smith, Serena Williams, and Amanda Gorman as Public Enemy\u2019s members trade bars over a rambunctious guitar loop.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"PUBLIC ENEMY &quot;The Hits Just Keep On Comin&quot; OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iX6Lg8NwdWU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFlavor Flav sets the resilient tone, rapping, \u201cKnock us down, we\u2026won\u2019t stop now, B,\u201d and Chuck\u00a0 follows up rhyming, \u201cListen \u2014 yall got radio permission?\/Hit \u2018em hard, knock \u2018em out of commission.\u201d From the snippet of late congressman and activist John Lewis\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/snccdigital.org\/inside-sncc\/policy-statements\/march-washington-speech\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">speech<\/a> at the 1963 March on Washington, to Johnson smashing a TV with the word \u201chate\u201d beaming onscreen, the visual aims to reflect the world\u2019s turbulent political state as urgently as Public Enemy\u2019s refrain of \u201cwhat ya got, ya got to do somethin\u2019.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThese lyrics are still relevant today as much as yesterday and when they\u2019re juxtaposed with these heroes that never stopped, no one can make excuses,\u201d Chuck tells <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> in an e-mailed statement. \u201cIt\u2019s time to wake up and DO something.
