The city, of course, was mourning, but rock luminaries also began paying tribute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tJon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bon-jovi\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bon-jovi\" data-tag=\"bon-jovi\">Bon Jovi<\/a>, whom Robert often interviewed on air at 93.3 WMMR, where Robert worked for 44 years, wrote a lengthy remembrance on Instagram. \u201cToday we lost a great friend. Someone who truly LOVED music. All types of music. Someone who loved musicians. Not just famous ones, or chart toppers. He admired local artists and tomorrow\u2019s rising stars,\u201d <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DQaKcXfj22Y\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\">Bon Jovi wrote<\/a> in part. \u201cThe station was lucky to have him on the air. We were all lucky to have him as a guide to his musical galaxy. And I was lucky to have him as a friend.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAlice Cooper, who sat with Robert for an interview during an August tour stop in Philly, wrote that he was \u201cvery sad to hear that legendary DJ Pierre Robert\u2026 has left the airwaves, or at least tuned to another frequency.\u201d Cooper signed his post, \u201cPierre \u2014 See you on the other side!\u201d and included a photo of the two arm-in-arm.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThat Robert\u2019s musical friendships were so diverse \u2014 he was just as chummy and comfortable with New Jersey rock icons and shock-rock legends as he was with n\u00fc-metal bands like Linkin Park and Orange County punks the Offspring \u2014 spoke to his genuine appreciation for all types of rock &amp; roll.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cWe are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the passing of our long-time friend Pierre Robert,\u201d the Offspring posted on their socials. \u201cWe spoke with him many times over the last couple of decades, and he was always one of our favorite interviewers.\u201d The group recalled a wild bus ride from Philly to New York with Robert in tow. \u201cWe drank into the wee hours,\u201d they wrote, \u201cbefore [Robert caught] a train back to do his morning show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe Struts also paid tribute, calling Robert \u201cone of the most wonderful, supportive and kind natured humans we\u2019ve had the pleasure of meeting in our journey. We couldn\u2019t have loved this man more.\u201d Collective Soul\u2019s Ed Roland tearfully called him \u201cthe truest gentleman I or the band Collective Soul ever met. He was a good friend, he knew his music, he always asked great questions,\u201d he said. \u201cI will miss him for the rest of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tOnstage at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia on Wednesday night, the day Robert died, Bryan Adams somberly told the crowd that he had a Zoom interview scheduled with Robert for that morning, which went unanswered.
