Arcade Fire<\/a> co-founders Win Butler<\/a> and R\u00e9gine Chassagne<\/a> have announced that they are separating after more than 20 years of marriage. \u201cThey continue to love, admire and support each other as they co-parent their son,\u201d\u00a0they wrote<\/a> in a statement.\u00a0\u201cTheir work in Haiti with KANPE continues and their bond as creative soulmates will endure, as will Arcade Fire.\u201d Find the full statement below.<\/p>\n Butler and Chassagne married<\/a> in 2003, the year before Arcade Fire released their breakout debut, Funeral<\/em><\/a>. The couple welcomed<\/a> its first and only child in 2013, shortly before the release of Reflektor<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n In 2022, not long after Arcade Fire released WE<\/em><\/a>, several women came forward<\/a> to accuse<\/a> Butler of sexual misconduct. The musician said that he had extramarital relationships and maintained that the experiences were consensual. Chassagne responded to the allegations with a statement showing support for her then-husband. \u201cI know what is in his heart, and I know he has never, and would never, touch a woman without her consent and I am certain he never did,\u201d she said. \u201cHe has lost his way and he has found his way back. I love him and love the life we have created together.\u201d<\/p>\n Arcade Fire returned earlier this year with Pink Elephant<\/em><\/a>, their first album since the allegations against Butler.
