Still, the band packed in hits from across their catalog, with their show-opening performance of \u201cAll My Life\u201d available to watch on YouTube. The band declined to set up on stage, choosing instead to perform on the floor in the round. Frontman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/dave-grohl\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dave-grohl\" data-tag=\"dave-grohl\">Dave Grohl<\/a> said this made the show feel a bit more like a Foo Fighters rehearsal, though he also joked that it \u201ckind of looks like a Lenny Kravitz video.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe Foo Fighters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/foo-fighters-new-drummer-ilan-rubin-surprise-show-1235426994\/\">returned to the stage<\/a> in September, playing a handful of special club and theater shows where they unveiled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/foo-fighters-new-drummer-ilan-rubin-replace-josh-freese-1235397528\/\">new drummer Ilan Rubin<\/a> (brought in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/josh-freese-jokes-fired-foo-fighters-list-1235342912\/\">replace<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/foo-fighters-drummer-josh-freese-part-1235341357\/\">Josh Freese<\/a>). They\u2019ve since played a handful of bigger shows in Asia and have scheduled a proper North American stadium tour for 2026. In July, they dropped a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/foo-fighters-return-30th-anniversary-todays-song-1235377515\/\">new track, \u201cToday\u2019s Song,\u201d<\/a> and the 2026 tour announcement was accompanied by a new single, \u201cAsking for a Friend.\u201d In a statement, Grohl said the song was \u201cfor those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear.
