Arguably, that\u2019s even more true today, when identifying as blue collar, country, or, yes, redneck is worn as a badge of honor by many. But when Wilson released the song in 2004, that wasn\u2019t necessarily the case in country music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201c\u2018Redneck Woman\u2019 was just different enough at that time and authentic enough in that moment to become an anthem for women who weren\u2019t being talked to, or talked about either,\u201d Wilson says on <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/nashville-now\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nashville-now\" data-tag=\"nashville-now\">Nashville Now<\/a><\/em> podcast. \u201cI\u2019m a very proud woman. I actually like myself. I like the things I\u2019ve been able to accomplish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWilson, who won a Grammy for \u201cRedneck Woman\u201d in the Best Female Country Vocal Performance category in 2005, is teeing up a new accomplishment: The Illinois native says she\u2019s re-recording her debut album, <em>Here for the Party<\/em>, as an all-star duets project for her own indie label, Redneck Records.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019m going to have a guest vocalist on each song. I\u2019ve gotten some promises from some pretty big names. You know how music works, though. They don\u2019t actually have to be there the day I\u2019m tracking it,\u201d Wilson says. \u201cBut I\u2019ve gotten far enough to know what key everybody\u2019s song needs to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWilson is bullish on naming names.
