\n\tAriana Grande<\/a> will make her return to the stage next year on the Eternal Sunshine <\/em>tour<\/a>, her first stint on the road in seven years \u2014 but she has some theatrical stage plans under wraps, too.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a recent interview with The New York Times<\/em>,<\/a> the singer revealed that she\u2019s been working on a scarcely detailed production that will bring her back to the stage in a different context. \u201cIt\u2019s not on Broadway,\u201d Grande said, \u201cbut it\u2019s something that I\u2019m very excited about and inspired by.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLast week, Grande reunited with Allie Trimm and Aaron Simon Gross, who acted alongside her when she made her Broadway debut in the musical 13 <\/em>in 2008. While she hasn\u2019t been back to Broadway since, she did star in NBC\u2019s live adaptation of Hairspray<\/em> in the role of Penny back in 2016. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe mystery project joins the musician and actress\u2019 growing list of plans. In addition to the tour and Wicked: For Good<\/em>, the sequel to last year\u2019s Wicked,<\/em> which stars Grande in her dream role of Glinda, she will also appear in the Meet the Parents <\/em>sequel Focker In-Law<\/em> <\/a>and Season 13 of Ryan Murphy\u2019s American Horror Story. <\/a><\/em>This week, Grande will star in the two-hour NBC special Wicked: One Wonderful Night<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThen there\u2019s the matter of the music. \u201cOf course, music will be in my life forever,\u201d Grande said. \u201cI have to say that for my fans who are reading this who are going to have a heart attack.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer sparred with fans this week after breaking the news<\/a> that she would miss the Brazil premiere of Wicked: For Good <\/em>due to flight delays. While some were understandably disappointed, others escalated their response to a concerning extent. \u201cPlease don\u2019t wish danger on us,\u201d Grande wrote to them on Instagram. No matter how upset or disappointed you are, please please do not wish danger on us or assume that we didn\u2019t try.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking with The New York Times<\/em>, Grande detailed her complicated relationship with her own pop stardom. \u201cI think it got away from me in a way I didn\u2019t expect,\u201d she said. \u201cThere\u2019s a thing that comes along with your dreams coming true that feels dangerous at times.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStepping into these worlds outside of the realm of her pop star persona \u2014 as well as establishing a new team, which required her to split from long-time manager Scooter Braun \u2014 has helped her to find balance. \u201cThere was something broken about my relationship to pop music that was healed recently through the time away,\u201d Grande said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
