The nominees for the 2026 Grammy Award<\/a> for Album of the Year have been announced. Justin Bieber<\/a>\u2019s Swag<\/em><\/a> , Lady Gaga<\/a>\u2019s Mayhem<\/em><\/a>, and Kendrick Lamar<\/a>\u2019s GNX<\/em><\/a> all have a chance to clinch their artists\u2019 first wins in the category after multiple prior nominations. Rounding out the pack are Bad Bunny<\/a>\u2019s Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos<\/em><\/a>, Clipse<\/a>\u2019s Let God Sort Em Out<\/em><\/a>, Leon Thomas\u2019 Mutt<\/em>, Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em><\/a>, and Tyler, the Creator<\/a> Chromakopia<\/em><\/a>. See all of the 2026 Grammy nominations here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lady Gaga has now been nominated five times for Album of the Year; she was previously up for the award for 2008\u2019s The Fame<\/em>, 2009\u2019s The Fame Monster<\/em><\/a>, 2011\u2019s Born This Way<\/em><\/a>, and 2022\u2019s Love for Sale<\/em> (with Tony Bennett). Meanwhile, it is Lamar\u2019s fifth solo Album of the Year nod (his contributions to Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>\u2019s Lemonade<\/em><\/a> and 2018\u2019s Black Panther: The Album<\/em><\/a> were also previously nominated in the category). It would be both artists\u2019 first time claiming the top prize.<\/p>\n In fact, 2026 will be the first year a previous Album of the Year winner has not been nominated in the category since 2019. Bieber has been up for the award twice, in 2017 for Purpose<\/em><\/a> and in 2022 for Justice<\/em><\/a>, and Carpenter and Bad Bunny can each lay claim to one prior nod\u2014for last year\u2019s Short n\u2019 Sweet<\/em><\/a> and 2022\u2019s Un Verano Sin Ti<\/em><\/a>, respectively. None of them, however, has yet taken home the trophy.<\/p>\n Tyler, the Creator also has an Album of the Year nomination dating all the way back to 2012, for his work on Frank Ocean<\/a>\u2019s Channel Orange<\/em><\/a>. Clipse and Thomas are the category\u2019s newcomers, though Pusha T<\/a> claimed anod in 2022 as a featured artist on Kanye West<\/a>\u2019s Donda<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Last year\u2019s lineup<\/a> for Album of the Year included Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Cowboy Carter<\/em><\/a>, Charli XCX<\/a>\u2019s Brat<\/em><\/a>, Andr\u00e9 3000<\/a>\u2019s New Blue Sun<\/em><\/a>, Billie Eilish<\/a>\u2019s Hit Me Hard and Soft<\/em><\/a>, and Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s The Tortured Poets Department<\/em><\/a>.
