Patti Smith<\/a> appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/em> last night (November 6) to discuss her new memoir, Bread of Angels<\/em><\/a>, and some of the career-spanning anecdotes featured therein. In the extended chat with host Stephen Colbert<\/a>, she discussed her National Book Award win for Just Kids<\/em><\/a>, her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe, the 50th anniversary<\/a> of Horses<\/em><\/a>, the arrival of the new book in a dream, and more. She also performed \u201cPeaceable Kingdom,\u201d a song from her 2004 album Trampin\u2019<\/em><\/a>, accompanied by its co-writer, Tony Shanahan. Watch it all go down below.<\/p>\n
